A little distraction – reviving a rusty old vintage bike to former glory :)

Hello,

I had a surprise during this week and found a rusty old bike that someone had thrown out on the footpath, so I decided I liked the look of it and took it upon myself to rescue and revive the bike.

Here is a photo of the bike before I worked on it:

It was pretty rusty!!!!  So I sanded off the rust with a lot of patience, steel wool, toothpaste and brasso.  Most of the bike transformed really well as it was mainly surface rust.   My brother in law told me how to sand off the rust, and the guy at the auto shop told me to seal the sanded back chrome with a clear enamel spray paint (but I haven’t done that yet, maybe this weekend).

The bike polished up pretty good thankfully, but I had to get new wheels and a few spare parts.  My brother in law helped me put all the parts on the bike together as he is into bike mechanics and I don’t know that much about it.

Here is the revived bike :

It turned out as I had always dreamed of….. my dream bike :) yayyyyyy.   But I better get back to my other stuff now and be busy.  Will add a bike ride to my exercise regime now. It will be fun to get fit.

Back into the music zone :)

Hello all,

well I have nearly finished setting up my sideline project, at final stages of building an e-commerce website.  I hope to launch it Friday week all going well, but there is no deadline (I seem to be running early as usual though).  Then I will be able to get back into doing some music again finally :) yayyyyyy

I do need to set up a little sideline project though, as I realize there are no guarantees in life and it is a good idea to have a bread and butter line so you can survive while pursuing what you love…. which is music and art.  So that is what I am doing.  It kind of takes the pressure off, and brings back more enjoyment to the entire process.

Anyway, I will be getting back into my singing in just over a week, and I have lots to do.  I will get 1 song perfect re vocals & mix, then continue with all the others to get them to a finished state finally.

I will have a much more polished body of work towards the end of this year, and I will be skinnier, …. and my hair will be even longer too :)  I have a feeling things might start happening towards the end of this year or early next year with my music.  I will be ready then and not half baked.  Will give it my best go anyway and see what happens.

I think I need to fine-tune & redesign this website also later this year, as I am feeling much more fluent with designing websites now that I have nearly finished an e-commerce one for side-line project.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week :)

Time for a stroll in the Melbourne Royal Botanical Gardens to refresh

Hello :)

Well I have finished making prototype products for new sideline business…. took ages.  Very happy with results.  Building an e-commerce website for it next.  I might also transform this website into an e-commerce website later this year, because I will have it all figured out soon.  Maybe I will launch an album on this website only available from my website in hardcopy…. I am old fashioned and prefer dealing in tangible products.  Artwork is very important to me also, so I don’t want to sell my albums digitally in future.

I am busting to get back into my music, it should only be another week or 2 now and I will road test new microphone.  I have about 40 songs I need to re-sing totally and remix by the end of this year, so they are presentable to global standards for pitching.  It has been a massive learning curve, but thankfully, I am nearly there.  It was the production/mixing stuff that was holding me back, but I have figured out what my issues are and have them under control, just fine-tuning 1 song first with some constructive feedback from Producer Ronan Murphy in Los Angeles, who I am having a few consulting sessions with to make sure I get these issues sorted finally.

Today I am taking a day off, and went for a walk around the Melbourne Royal Botanical Gardens in the Australian Autumn.  Here are some photos from the walk.  I just took them with my handheld mobile phone, so the self-portrait is not the most flattering picture, but I will post it anyway as I did not take my tripod with me on the walk.

Also, good news about my weight loss, I have lost 10% of my total bodyweight so far this year, and am over half way to my goal weight :)  By the end of the Australian Winter I should fit into my skinny clothes again, so I will wait until then to update my website with photos, etc.

I feel much much much better now, and I am also very happy that Nile Rodgers c-tests came back clear today, well done!  We are friends again, I am glad I did not lose him as my friend with that mini meltdown.  I just had an overload of bad stuff happen and all those little straws broke this camel’s back for a while there.  Feeling positive, strong and happy as unusual again now.

Busy on turning dreams into reality.  Have a wonderful week.  Tune in next week for another update :)
